Expenser Terms of Use
This is a short, plain-English draft suitable for product and App Store use. It is not a substitute for legal advice.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using Expenser (the “App”) on iPhone or Apple Watch, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
How the App handles data is described in the Privacy Policy. That policy is part of how we describe the product; these Terms cover use of the App itself.
2. The App
Expenser is an expense-tracking app for iPhone and Apple Watch, developed by IAM CLOUD.IA LLC and distributed through the Apple App Store. It is designed for personal finance logging, review, and optional sharing via your Apple iCloud account. The App does not include advertising SDKs or third-party analytics. IAM CLOUD.IA LLC does not operate an Expenser account system or a separate server that receives your ledger.
3. License
Subject to these Terms and Apple’s App Store rules, IAM CLOUD.IA LLC grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal or household use.
You may not reverse engineer, redistribute, or resell the App, or use it in a way that breaks applicable law or Apple’s terms.
4. App Store terms
If you obtain the App through the Apple App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement and any applicable App Store terms also apply. Where those Apple terms conflict with these Terms on purchase, payment, refunds, or App Store distribution, Apple’s terms prevail for those topics.
5. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your devices and Apple Account secure.
- The accuracy of records you create or import.
- Shared ledgers: who you invite through CloudKit Sharing, and what those participants can see. Shared data may remain available to other participants until the share owner stops sharing or deletes it.
- Wise (optional): if you connect Wise, you supply a read-only API token that stays in the device Keychain and is sent only to Wise. Protect that token; disconnecting Wise in the App deletes the stored token and stops future imports. Imported transactions already in your ledger remain until you delete them. Wise is a third party and processes requests under its own terms.
Expenser is a general-audience finance utility. You decide how you use it; it is not professional financial, tax, or legal advice.
6. Intellectual property
The App, its name, branding, and related materials are owned by IAM CLOUD.IA LLC or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you. You keep ownership of the content and records you create in the App.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, IAM CLOUD.IA LLC disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that backups, sync, or third-party services (including Apple iCloud and Wise) will always succeed.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, IAM CLOUD.IA LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App or inability to use it—even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid (if any) for the App through the App Store for the period giving rise to the claim, or the minimum amount required by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms when the product or distribution practices change. The effective date above will be revised. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the App and uninstall it.
